Aira, now known as FreePower, appeared on Shark Tank in 2019, looking for $500,000 for a 7% stake in their wireless charging tech. They impressed the Sharks with their idea, which allowed multiple devices to charge at the same time, no matter where they were placed on the pad.
They ended up striking a deal with Kevin O’Leary, Lori Greiner, and Robert Herjavec, who offered $500,000 for 15% of the company. After the show, they rebranded to FreePower and launched their first product, the Base Station Pro, which received praise but was initially criticized for being too expensive.
In 2021, they raised $12 million to expand into other industries like automotive and hospitality. As of 2024, they’re still growing, exploring new ways to integrate their wireless charging tech into things like furniture and cars.
It seems like their journey is still on the upswing!
