DoorDash began in 2013 when four Stanford students—Tony Xu, Stanley Tang, Andy Fang, and Evan Moore—wanted to help small restaurants handle deliveries.
They launched their service under the name Palo Alto Delivery and soon applied to Y Combinator, using a simple video to show their early progress. YC accepted them, giving them funding and guidance to grow the business.
The company quickly expanded beyond Palo Alto, rebranded as DoorDash, and focused on connecting local restaurants with customers through easy-to-use delivery. Over time, DoorDash became one of the largest food delivery services in the U.S.
In 2020, DoorDash went public with a valuation of $72 billion. Today, it’s valued at over $100 billion, generating more than $10 billion in annual revenue. The company continues to grow, adding grocery and retail delivery to its services while maintaining a strong position in the food delivery market

Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, has long been one of Bitcoin’s most vocal critics. He has referred to the cryptocurrency as a “fraud,” a “Ponzi scheme,” and even compared it to a “pet rock.” Dimon argues that Bitcoin has no intrinsic value and is primarily used for illicit activities such as money laundering and ransomware payments. Despite the growing popularity of digital assets, his stance on Bitcoin has remained firm and highly skeptical.
However, Dimon has also emphasized the importance of personal freedom when it comes to financial decisions. In recent remarks, he likened owning Bitcoin to smoking a cigarette something he personally wouldn’t recommend but would still defend your right to do. While he makes it clear he doesn’t care if Bitcoin hits record highs, he supports the idea that people should be free to buy it if they choose, even if he believes it’s a poor investment.
Interestingly, despite Dimon’s strong personal views, JPMorgan has actively explored blockchain technology and digital finance. The bank has developed JPM Coin, a digital token used by institutional clients to streamline transactions. While Bitcoin’s market cap has reached an impressive $1.2 trillion at times, Dimon continues to advise caution, urging investors to steer clear of it despite broader trends in the financial sector.
